We are currently receiving a high number of enquiries about the MenB vaccine following recent news coverage and reports of cases in the media.
The MenB vaccine was introduced into the UK routine childhood immunisation programme in 2015. This means that anyone born before this time would not have routinely received the vaccine as part of their childhood schedule.
At present, the NHS does not offer a catch-up MenB vaccination programme for older children or adults. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to provide this vaccine at our practice.
We understand that this may be worrying for some patients. If you are concerned about symptoms of meningitis or feel unwell, please seek medical advice urgently.
For the latest NHS guidance on meningitis symptoms and vaccination eligibility, please visit the NHS website.
Thank you for your understanding while our team manages a high volume of enquiries.
